After a smashing successful and fun photo workshop last year, I’m delighted to offer my second Sydney in Osaka Street Photography Tour with the Community House and Information Center in Kobe (CHIC).  Beginners or advanced, smart phones or fancy cameras, I hope you can join us!

Last year because of the rain forecast I changed the itinerary and toured Shinsaibashi and Dontonbori in Osaka. It’s such a pleasure to share Japan with others, and my love of the visual feast photographers find. It’s great because Osaka is the No. 3 safest city in the world, so it’s easy to roam around and not worry about your camera equipment getting stolen, like I had happen when I was in Colombia.

This year we will meet up at Tennoji Station for coffee and a brief, “How to Take Better Pictures” chat before wandering this interesting area and make our way toward Tennoji Park, the best kept secret in Japan, in my opinion, as tourism pollution takes its toll on Japan.  No crowds here!.

Get up close and personal in Osaka, Japan with the Sydney in Osaka Street Photography Tour!

Then we will head to the Keikaku Japanese Garden near the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts, then cross over past the Tennoji Zoo into another favorite are of mine, the Shin-Sekei area that features Tsutenkaku Tower. Funky and ecclectic, the place is dripping with photo opportunities.  If we have time, we will double back to Ishhinji Buddhist Temple before heading to lunch.

Iphones are my favorite camera these days!

Iphones are my favorite camera these days! Remarkable quality!

In case of rain, we will head to my new neighborhood, the eclectic and very Japanese Tenma area of Osaka. I will be offering a night photography tour of this amazing neighborhood.

Also, I was available to critique the photos in a special online group for feedback after the shoot to talk about the photos and more. We will do it again this year and I think a Photo Club is in the works! Stay tuned and happy shooting!  Join us! Ikkimasho!
